The Coronation of King Charles III
On the eve of the coronation of King Charles III, on Saturday May 6, 2023, we found it most humorous to consider the Jehovah’s Witnesses official viewpoint on this week’s very event, the coronation.
Many years ago, the Awake! magazine of August 22, 1982, published by Jehovah’s Witnesses, featured a bold article, headed in royal purple, entitled “A Better Monarchy”.
This article featured a quote from English journalist Malcolm Muggeridge who had written that
“in these troubled and changing times, only fortunetellers, Marxists and Jehovah’s Witnesses will venture to prognosticate whether Prince Charles . . . will actually one day mount the throne as King.”
In rhetorical reply, the 1982 Awake! article issued the following response, directly from the Jehovah’s Witnesses
“should Charles mount the throne of England his reign may well be short.”
Why would Jehovah’s Witnesses say that?
The same 1982 Awake! article explained that
“Bible prophecy indicates that the British monarchy . . . will soon be replaced by a much better monarchy.”
His Majesty might well find it amusing to learn that the entire Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, that were alive in 1982, when the above Awake! article was actually published, have in fact themselves been completely ‘replaced’ by another governing body.

Let’s face it, there are a lot of actors, singers, musicians, artists, sports stars, and celebrities that are former or even current Jehovah’s Witnesses, or that were raised as children within the religion.

The Falling Tower - a former pioneer and elder within the Jehovah’s Witnesses, who’s conscience would no longer allow him to remain in the religion, especially after watching the case study into the Jehovah’s Witnesses that formed part of the Australian Royal Commission into Institutional Responses to Child Sexual Abuse.
On Wednesday, February 22, 2023, it was announced at the World Headquarters of Jehovah’s Witnesses that
“Brother Anthony Morris III is no longer serving as a member of the Governing Body of Jehovah’s Witnesses.”
Still no news on the reasons for the removal of Anthony Morris III from the governing body of Jehovah’s Witnesses, or his whereabouts, although online speculation continues to abound.
